What's the name of the town where "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" takes place?
Way before he helmed one of the most successful movie franchises in history as the writer and director of "The Avengers," Joss Whedon was really into vampires.
After starting off writing for sitcoms, Whedon wrote the underrated 1992 movie version of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." But despite the fact that I liked it and Paul Reubens was in it, he became dissatisfied with how production was coming along and ultimately walked off the set.
But would he let go of his original vision for a teenager who tried to live a normal life only to reckon with her destiny as a Slayer? Hell nah. Before there was the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was Whedon’s highly successful TV version of Buffy, which created the Buffyverse.
Apparently one of the things Whedon hated was the setting for Buffy. Originally set in Los Angeles, Sarah Michelle Gellar and co. instead played out their mythical adventures in this fictional town. What is it called?
