What is the best-selling live album of all time?
Live albums are like playing the stock market — when it’s all said and done, you might end up celebrating with champagne, or you might want to punch yourself in the face.
I’ve also always thought that live albums kind of seem like a copout. You’re already performing these songs every night, so instead of coming up with new material you just hit record and expect us to buy the stuff you’ve already been playing for years and years? Plus the sound quality is always a gamble. Frankly, there’s nothing worse than when you hear one of your favorite songs come on and then hear the crowd start screaming and you realize it’s the dreaded live version.
But not all live albums are bad. I guess some of them must be pretty good because a few have sold lots and lots of copies. Which live album has sold the most?
