Why yes, I agree with you that the American version of "The Office" is indeed one of the best and funniest sitcoms in the history of television. It spawned a litany of mockumentary-style sitcoms, but none of those could match the absurdity of "The Office."
And none of them had the secret weapon of Steve Carrell playing Michael Scott, the inept, blindly confident, but ultimately endearing manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder-Mifflin.
One thing the show did well over its nine seasons was never to get stagnant. Sure, the Jim and Pam will they/won’t they was a bit teased out, but ultimately even that was resolved and the story kept moving forward. But like any business, Dundler-Mifflin experiences plenty of ups and downs, at one point even getting bought out by another company.
