At the height of Vanilla Ice’s popularity came the 1991 movie, Cool as Ice.
In the film, if you can call it that, Ice plays a motorcycle-loving rapper who catches the eye of a young honor student, mostly by saving her from some creeps using his motorcycle. Along with a needlessly complicated plot, we also get to see Ice doing a bit of rapping — including, as you can see in the image above, Naomi Campbell backing him up for some reason.
Sadly, the movie was a complete bomb, earning only a little over a million dollars against a $6 million budget.
It was part of the swift and pretty harsh backlash Vanilla Ice received after skyrocketing to fame as the first successful white rapper. But hey, he’s since experienced a bit of a renaissance thanks to his home improvement TV shows and even a stint on Dancing With the Stars.
Personally, if I knew him in real life, I’d just call him Ice, but those close to him probably call him by his real name. What is it?

The answer is: Robert Matthew Van Winkle. Sometimes I don’t get why people take on pseudonyms, but in this case, I really can’t blame Ice here. Still, a heavy metal band just called Van Winkle would rock.Source
