When someone tells you they have expensive taste, they're usually referring to clothes or cars or something. But I appreciate the person who's using that phrase literally — especially if they can actually name expensive foods.

Beyond expensive stuff like really high-end steaks or caviar or champagne, there's the stuff that makes the stuff. In other words: spices. And no, we're not talking about that stuff you can only find on Arrakis that makes you psychic. We're talking about those delectable flavors that can be sprinkled into our favorite dishes.
