What is the oldest continuously held sporting event in the United States?
I get it — not a lot in the United States is that old when you compare it to other parts of the world. People in England live in the same house their family owned 700 years ago and eat the same cookie recipe from the Middle Ages. Well whoop de doo.
And don’t get basically anyone from any other country started on the history of their soccer clubs. Sheesh.
But despite all that, we still have some pretty great sports history right here in the good ol’ USA, and I’m not just talking about the Doritos commercials that come up for every Super Bowl (but those are historically great). There are multiple sporting events that have become beloved annual traditions, some that have been going on quite a bit longer than others.
