"Shrek 5" Teaser Drops with Zendaya, Memes, and a Whole New Look

The "Shrek 5" teaser has finally landed, and let's just say fans are feeling a little green around the edges. The clip opens with a montage of Shrek memes because, of course, Shrek is love, Shrek is life. But then we get our first glimpse of the movie's animation style, and suddenly, the fairytale doesn't seem quite so enchanting.

We're also getting our first glimpse of Zendaya as Shrek and Fiona's teenage daughter. While I'm excited to see the "Euphoria" star bring her signature charm to Far Far Away, I hope her character is a little less... rebellious than Rue. The last thing Shrek needs is a Donkey sidekick dealing glitter makeup and running moonshine through the swamp.

But hey, at least we've got the OG gang back together! Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz are all reprising their iconic roles, ready to bring the laughs and the heart that made us fall in love with "Shrek" in the first place. Hopefully we get to see Antonio Banderas back as Puss in Boots, then you know there's gonna be some real swashbuckling fun in store.

Now, about that animation style... yeah, it's got some fans worried. But fear not, my fellow ogres! The studio has plenty of time to add some extra layers to the onion before "Shrek 5" hits theaters in December 2026. And if there's one thing we know about ogres (and ogre movies), it's that they're full of layers. So sit tight, keep memeing, and get ready for a Shrek-tacular adventure that's sure to make you believe in happily ever afters all over again!
