My nightmares got a lot weirder when Labyrinth was released in 1986. I mean, every babysitter has a bad day, but asking the Goblin King to take your little bro? C’mon.

We also learned about both father/son relationships AND stock car racing when Days of Thunder hit theaters today in 1990. And perhaps we can blame 28 Days Later‘s 2003 release for the zombie craze that followed.
III.
In 1970, the rock group Smile performed for the first time under their new and better name — Queen.
IV.
In 1972, Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney officially formed Atari in Sunnyvale, California.

V.
Today in 1986, you were probably at the mall movie theater watching The Karate Kid Part II, which was on a 4-week tear at the box office. Wax on, MFer.
