I.
Birthdays of honor: Tom Brady (1977), James Hetfield (1963), Tony Bennett (1926), Martha Stewart (1941), Martin Sheen (1940), John Landis (1950).
II.
In 1984, the mostly forgotten Grandview, U.S.A. was released in theaters, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Patrick Swayze, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Just your classic ’80s coming-of-age movie about a kid caught up in demolition derbies who really just wants to study oceanography.
And today marks your yearly reminder that yes, Bratz: The Movie is a real thing that was made and exists — released in 2007.
III.
Just two years after playing their very first show ever there, The Beatles play The Cavern Club in Liverpool for the last time in 1963. In that span, they played the club 292 times.

IV.
Starting today in 1977, you could get your hands on the TRS-80, one of the first mass-produced personal computers. Sold by the Tandy Corporation, you could simply visit your local Radio Shack to pick one up for a cool $600. Through 1982, it outsold the Apple II.

V.
On this day in 1993, you were trying to find the one-armed man when the movie reboot of The Fugitive, starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, was topping the box office for a serious late-summer run.
