AMC Turbocharges Discount Tuesdays with 50% Off for All Stubs Members
What was already the best mid-week movie hack just got cut in half... literally. Starting tomorrow, July 8, every tier of AMC Stubs will slice Tuesday ticket prices by 50 percent, matching the chain’s shiny new Wednesday deal (which also launches the next day) and doubling the reason to ditch streaming for the multiplex.
AMC’s long-running “Discount Tuesdays” had floated around five or six bucks a seat, depending on the location. The rebrand to a straight 50 percent discount ties the offer to the evening adult base price, making premium formats fair game (you still pay surcharges) and giving higher-ticket markets like New York or L.A. a real break.
The math is movie-nerd friendly. A Dolby Cinema seat that runs $24 on Saturday now rings up around $12 on either Tuesday or Wednesday; a standard 2-D showing that costs $14 becomes $7. For A-List subscribers who already pay a flat monthly fee the perk acts like surge protection, easing sticker shock for friends tagging along on Insider or Premiere cards. Mid-week traffic is historically less than weekend level, so slashing price volatility may lift those doldrums without cannibalizing Saturday nights.
Why now? Two forces collided. First, there's 2025's stacked slate with tent-poles like “Superman,” “Jurassic Park: Rebirth,” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” but also an 11 percent dip in AMC attendance during Q1. Loyalty membership tops 36 million, but the company still needs butts in reclining seats to sell popcorn margins.
To cash in, download the AMC app, tap “Join Stubs” (even the free Insider tier qualifies), and pick a showtime marked with the blue “50%” badge. Buy up to ten tickets per day and remember convenience fees, premium surcharges, and tax remain at full freight.
